20 Cities in France
Picture a modern-day tourist. A man or a woman who likes cities, their
culture and their art of living. This tourist likes leaving the beaten track,
losing himself in the streets, discovering the diversity of urban landscapes,
the soul of cities. This new visitor wants everything: monuments,
contemporary architecture, city gardens, art in all its forms, shows and
gastronomy. He is curious, appreciates good food, and he is a lover of
quality. It is with this tourist in mind that twenty French cities
have grouped together to create, within the Maison de la France - a
national organisation responsible for the promotion of tourism in France - the
Club of Large Towns in France.
Why a Large Town Club ?
The Club des Grandes Villes de France associates towns of over 90,000
inhabitants that have Tourist offices ranked at four-star level.
These "4-star" offices - the highest possible rating - are distinguished by
the wide range of services they offer both to the public and to the travel
trade
Information offices that are open seven days a week, including public
holidays, all year round, with multilingual staff, foreign exchange
facilities, souvenirs, hotel booking service and organization of guided
tours and visits are available to make your trip as enjoyable as
possible.
